Our new home in Ringdalskogen

In July 2026, Sortbat Norway moved into a new facility in Ringdalskogen, Larvik. On 24 September 2026, we officially opened our doors: a site purpose-built around the two capabilities driving our growth, Flying Technician interventions and 2nd-life battery reconditioning from EV, industrial and maritime batteries.

Thanking those who made it possible

Øystein Kjæreng

Getting here took months of preparation. For weeks, our colleagues on the production floor combined their regular work with operations across two locations while the new site was being readied, a real team effort that didn't go unnoticed.

In his speech, Øystein Kjæreng (CEO Sortbat Norway) thanked the company's founder for laying the foundation, Daniel Chéret for his continued support as Group CEO, and the whole Sortbat Norway team for making the milestone possible.

Discovering the new site

Guests then toured the site. In the offices, the team walked them through the full customer journey, from the moment a request comes in to the handling plan that follows. Outside, the Flying Technicians team was introduced: the mobile unit that responds to damaged, unstable or hard-to-move batteries wherever they are, in Norway and abroad, with a fleet of vans, a trailer and certified transport boxes built for exactly this job.

On the production floor, colleagues showed how batteries are safely discharged and dismantled, the first step in determining which units can be given a 2nd life instead of going straight to recycling.

What's next for Sortbat Norway

Øystein shared where Sortbat Norway is heading: establishing itself as the precycling layer in a Norwegian battery market that is growing fast. The tour also included a Sortbat group-level view and the EU-funded projects and innovation work happening across Sortbat.
