Sortbat Norway is ready for the upcoming battery regulation

Sandefjord, Norway – 27 November 2025 The European Union regulation for the handling and recycling of electric vehicle (EV) batteries is set to be implemented in Norway. However, although the regulation is already in force at EU level, Norway’s national implementation has not officially changed yet. As the final national details are still being defined, Sortbat Norway is already fully prepared for the changes ahead, ensuring it can meet the future requirements as from day one.

Norway Modules 2

In this landscape, Sortbat Norway – a trusted operator with more than 13 years of experience – highlights its role as an independent operator, working alongside PROs (Producer Responsibility Organizations) to ensure safe and compliant battery handling. While PROs are responsible for administration, compliance, and reporting, operators like Sortbat Norway perform the hands-on, technical work: safely collecting, handling, transporting, discharging, dismantling, and ensuring approved recycling of EV and industrial batteries.

Sortbat Norway operates independently and can work with any PRO in Norway or abroad, providing operational expertise across the entire battery lifecycle.
